Alaska Cruise Ship Food
No matter what you like to eat, your cruise ship will probably offer something to suit your tastes. If, for example, you have a taste for the finer things in life, then you will love to spend your evenings at a formal dinner that cruise ships host, which have very elegant menus and official seating and starting times. These formal dinners can be a joy to those who love to dress up and really enjoy living the high life.
If you prefer to eat a lot more causal, then check out the buffet that most cruise lines also host. A typical buffet is kept open and stocked 24 hours a day, and can be enjoyed no matter what meal time it is, from a midnight snack to a hearty breakfast. The buffet tends to be very popular, particularly for breakfast, and is a great place to go when you are ready to eat immediately.
Depending on the cruise line, you may also have several restaurant style options that have regular hours of operation and which will allow you to come in to eat and enjoy something other than the food that the buffet serves and a little more causal than the formal dinners.
Your cruise may have an outdoor grill that cooks up hot dogs and hamburgers to order starting at lunch time, or they may have more traditional restaurants indoors somewhere, or maybe both. Get a snack at one of the bars, or check out a gourmet pizza restaurant on the cruise ship. There may be a caf? or another type of eatery as well, all depending on the cruise line and on the size of the ship.
A great thing to remember is that your choice should not be limited by your idea of your budget. Your food is paid for by your room costs, so eat up as much and as often as you want.
Keep in mind, however, that your drinks may not be included in your price. Some cruise lines include all non-alcoholic beverages or beverages from certain restaurants. Others do not include any drinks in your price, other than water. You can pay for them out of pocket or you can have them charged to your room. In any case, be careful to find out the ship's drink policy before you book your cruise!
